31 Jan Airane 5 Launch – James Webb Space Telescope – NASA x Lighting Maintenance

Christmas morning NASA & ESA launched the $10B James Webb Space Telescope at 7:20AM out of French Guayana. LMI assisted the transport of this space telescope many times during its construction to the NASA Goddard Space Center and Andrew’s Air Force Base.

The telescope at the time was 18’ wide 16’7” tall, 126’ long, and weighing 146,500 lbs. laying on the transport vehicle so LMI would send 2 bucket trucks ahead of the convoy to lift low-hanging communication cables so the space telescope could pass safely underneath.
