Scorpion II Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA)
Here at Lighting Maintenance, Inc., we prioritize the safety of our employees, customers, and the general public. Scorpion II Truck Mounted Attenuator(s) (TMA) are mobile crash cushions attached to the rear of our rented service vehicle’s support frames.
Not only does this design provide protection, but it also reduces wind resistance, increases fuel efficiency, and provides enhanced advanced warnings to drivers through the omnivolt LED lighting systems. Our TMA Protection Vehicles are installed and used in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and requirements.
Design Specifications
The Scorpion II TMA is equipped with strut and cartridge sections that link together on the support frame, which helps reduce wind resistance and increases fuel efficiency during travel. Industry-leading omnivolt LED lighting systems are utilized for the brake, directional, signal, and running lights to provide surrounding drivers with clear, advanced warnings.
The modular design helps reduce the impact on vehicle occupants, lowers repair costs, and allows for simple parts replacement. Corrosion-resistant aluminum tubes are utilized for curved side rails, which increase safety and redirect impacting vehicles from the back corners of service trucks. The significantly shorter length of the Scorpion II TMA compared to other manufacturer units makes incidental impacts less likely, and repair costs more budget-friendly. The Scorpion II TMA is compatible with Doctor Air Brake®, which is an automatic braking system that immediately locks the brakes of our vehicles on impact to further protect vehicle occupants, bystanders, and workers.
